GST Guide for Churches

Welcome to the GST Guide for Churches.  The information contained in this guide is for use by churches and other organisations.

This GST Guide is produced by a team of Christian professionals who are active in their own churches. Saward Dawson works extensively with churches and Christian organisations. We know and understand the issues affecting churches and not-for-profit organisations.

We originally set out to ensure that our clients would be ready for the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). Prior to 1 July 2000, churches were largely outside the requirements of the Taxation Law. This Guide now helps them to come to terms with a new era of accountability and external reporting.
