Scholarship programme
Accounting
is a challenging and rewarding career. The possibilities are limitless.
Accountants can be auditors, analysts, managers, tax experts, CFOs, CEOs in
Australia or around the world. Accountants are sought by accounting firms,
businesses and governments in all facets of business including economics,
finance, entertainment, IT, manufacturing, sales to fashion. Accountants who
work in public practice enjoy a wide variety of tasks and see businesses
develop through their input and experience.
Saward Dawson wants to encourage young people to pursue this rewarding
career by offering a scholarship programme to uni students. Our scholarship
programme assists financially as you undergo your studies and will give you
the opportunity to experience Chartered Accounting with us along the way.

 |
Professionalism - technical excellence and
integrity |
 |
Dedication – desire to get the job done and the ability to thrive on a
challenge |
 |
Relationships – enjoyment through working with and developing people |
 |
Life balance - setting aside enough time for families, involvement in
community organisations and making a worthwhile contribution to society |
Scholarship programmes
Two levels of scholarships are available.
Major Scholarships
We award two major scholarships ($750 per year) to students pursuing studies
with an accounting major at university. We ask potential recipients to
submit an application outlining your suitability to meet the criteria. We
will then create a shortlist of applicants to attend a brief interview.
Saward Dawson will support you in the following ways:
| 1st year |
At the start of the first year, we will provide $750 to assist you
with education expenses. |
| 2nd year |
Like the first year, we will give you $750 to assist with education
expenses. |
| 3rd year |
We will give you first option to join us, before you return to uni,
in our paid Vacation Work Programme. This will give you the opportunity to
check out Chartered Accounting as a possible future career. |
Minor Scholarships
In addition to the major scholarships we also offer six minor scholarships.
These are awarded on the same criteria as the major scholarships. We will
contribute $250 each year (for three years whilst you are at uni) to assist
with your education expenses.
Who should apply?
If you are heading to uni to study with an accounting major, have a desire
to pursue excellence and are a team player, then we want to hear from you.
If you think you fit the bill in these areas, please submit an application.
Applications
Applications should be in writing. Specifically we will be looking for you
to demonstrate:
 |
your interest in accounting and your
commitment to excellence |

your ability to be part of a team and/or your
leadership ability |
